FITUR 4all 2026 places accessible tourism at the heart of the international debate
For the third consecutive year, the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR), taking place from 21 to 25 January at IFEMA MADRID, will feature this specialised section developed in collaboration with IMPULSA IGUALDAD.
The professional conference on 23 January will bring together institutions, destinations and companies from different countries to highlight that accessibility is no longer an added extra, but a key driver of innovation, competitiveness and social transformation within the tourism industry. On 24 January, a series of workshops open to the general public will focus on awareness-raising and knowledge sharing.
The programme will open with a reflection on Spain’s new tourism brand, “Think you know Spain? Think again”, which positions the country as a diverse, modern and accessible destination, where equal opportunities become a defining competitive advantage in international markets. Examples from destinations such as Valencia will show how integrating accessibility improves the overall visitor experience.
Case studies like Mallorca, sponsor of the section, will illustrate how accessibility, combined with sustainability and effective tourism governance, helps create more cohesive and attractive destinations. The social dimension will play a central role, with contributions from public authorities and international organisations united by a key message: there is no sustainable tourism without inclusion.
FITUR 4all will also highlight how technology can help remove barriers, showcasing digital solutions that enhance travellers’ autonomy. The event will conclude with the presentation of the 3rd FITUR 4all Awards, recognising destinations, companies and organisations leading the transition towards a more accessible and responsible tourism model.
