MITM Americas 2019 Gets Underway in Havana’s Hotel Nacional
The forerunner and most influential congress and meeting tourism fair, MITM Americas, takes place for a second year in a row in Havana, this time around at the famous Hotel Nacional, from October 14 to 17.
The 23rd edition of MITM Americas, which will celebrate these days the fifth centennial of the foundation of Havana, is already receiving the more than 350 companies that have registered to attend as hosted buyers.
The event, which has established itself as the most important gathering of its kind for professionals of meeting tourism, congresses and business travel, is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, Gran Caribe Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Nacional de Cuba, Cubatur and Iberia Airlines.
Participants in this edition will receive training courses for tourism professionals taught by professors from the University of Nebrija, MICE Training and the Latin America Confederation of Congress Organizers (COCAL), and the Noun Professional Training Program.
Its organizers, GSAR Marketing/MITM Events, have confirmed the participation of MICE buyers from more than 54 countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Slovenia, Spain, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, among others and 8 Spanish hotel chains: Meliá, Iberostar, Barceló, Be Live, RIU, ROC, Evenia and VP Hotels.
Participation in the event includes the course of “Specialization in the Tourism of Meetings and Events (MICE)” for professionals of exhibiting companies and taught by qualified professors from the prestigious University of Nebrija, COCAL (Confederation of Congress Organizers of Latin America) and other professionals specialized in MICE tourism, designed to improve the competitiveness of companies in the sector.
The MITM Method, used by GSAR Marketing in its 50 international fairs held in 37 cities in 18 countries, guarantees an agenda of up to 30 pre-established appointments with international TOP MICE buyers and a productive networking program to establish strategic professional alliances.
Of all companies registered only 20% are approved to participate, ensuring that only those buyers with the highest business potential are accepted after the strict selection process.
