The countdown has officially begun: in just one year, FIFA World Cup 26™ action arrives in Greater Miami and Miami Beach, cementing the region’s status as a global capital of sports and culture. From June 15, 2026, the newly renamed Miami Stadium (formerly Hard Rock Stadium) in Miami Gardens will host seven thrilling matches, from the Group Stage through the Quarterfinal and Bronze Final.

The summer kickoff to the countdown is already electric. Miami is currently hosting the FIFA Club World Cup (June 14–July 13), welcoming top-tier teams like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Boca Juniors, and Inter Miami. These matches signal the city’s growing role as a magnet for international tournaments, building excitement ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Today marks more than just a countdown—it's a celebration of Greater Miami’s role on the world stage,” said David Whitaker, President & CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB). Over the next year, the city will also host elite competitions like the NHL Winter Classic, College Football National Championship, World Baseball Classic, and the NASCAR Championship, demonstrating a breadth of global sporting appeal few destinations can match.

With its rich Latin American and Caribbean influences, Miami offers a vibrant fan experience unlike any other World Cup host city. From street celebrations and colorful gatherings to world-class nightlife, visitors can enjoy both top-tier soccer and the city’s famed tropical lifestyle. Whether it’s attending a match by day or cruising Biscayne Bay by night, Miami promises an unforgettable blend of sports and leisure.

As FIFA World Cup 26™ approaches, Miami’s global reputation as a destination for prestigious, high-energy events continues to soar—delivering both the world’s greatest games and the experiences that make them memorable.
