"Fly Me to The Moon" Premieres at Kennedy Space Center

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex near Orlando, Florida, is set to star alongside Hollywood actors Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, and Woody Harrelson in the film “Fly Me to the Moon,” opening internationally on Friday, July 12.
Set against the backdrop of the 1960s space race and NASA’s historic Apollo 11 moon landing, the film tells the fictional story of marketing genius Kelly Jones (Johansson) and NASA employee Cole Davis (Tatum) as they navigate the challenges of America's mission to land a man on the moon.
The film blends drama with comedy and showcases many iconic elements of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, including:
-
The Rocket Garden: Featuring NASA’s Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs, this garden offers visitors a narrated tour through early rocket history.
-
Saturn V Rocket: Filmed at the Apollo/Saturn V Center, this 370-foot-tall rocket is one of only three remaining in the U.S. Visitors can walk beneath this towering giant, appreciating the rocket that launched humans to the Moon over 50 years ago.
-
Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB): Highlighted in the film, the VAB is large enough to house three Empire State Buildings and remains central to NASA’s space missions. It's a key feature of the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour.
-
Astrovan: Located in the Apollo/Saturn V Center, the Astrovan was used to transport astronauts to the launch pad and is featured in several film scenes.
