Anguilla is anticipating a busy winter season, thanks to increased air connectivity from Canada’s top airlines.

Beginning this month and continuing through February, WestJet, Air Canada, Sunwing and Air Transat will all be rolling out additional flights to Saint Martin’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM).

Since Anguilla does not receive direct flights or cruise ships, Saint Martin serves as its main gateway. Travelers then take a ferry to the secluded island.

“We’re thrilled that more Canadians will have the chance to enjoy the hospitality and comfort of Anguilla this winter,” said Cardigan Connor, Anguilla’s Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Sports. “We welcome more visitors from Canada each year than almost any other country, and we’re happy to report that our combination of brilliant beaches and inspired cuisine keeps them coming back.”

WestJet has added an additional flight every Tuesday. Air Canada is rolling out an expanded flight schedule starting Dec. 15. Air Transat will resume weekly Saturday flights to SXM on Dec. 22, while Sunwing will introduce weekly Thursday flights from Feb. 28 onwards.

With 33 white sand beaches and a variety of luxury accommodations, Anguilla is a destination of choice this winter season. It was recognized in the 2018 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, retaining its top spot as the number-one island in the Caribbean for the second year in a row.
