American Airlines has awarded its most important prize, the Customer Cup, to the international airport of Varadero, Cuba’s top beach destination, the Cuban Aviation Corporation (CACSA) reported last week.

In a statement distributed to the press, CACSA stressed that this is the most important award given by the airline in virtue of top-quality and efficient performance in the operations of the company.

According to the same source, a similar distinction will be soon granted Jose Marti International Airport in Havana.

Both airports stand out for the quality and management of their infrastructure, as well as for their customer service, punctuality and luggage handling, key elements to clinching satisfaction among passengers.

Cuba boasts good airport infrastructure in an environment of social safety and security, let alone with broad perspectives of development, the CACSA report went on to say.

American Airlines made its inaugural flight to Havana in November 2016, just over a year after the historic restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
