15th Edition of Fiesta del Tambor Now Round the Corner
On March 1-6, Havana will be hosting the 15th edition of the Guillermo Barreto in Memoriam Fiesta del Tambor (Drum Party), a festival that annually takes place in this city. Artex’s cultural tourism agency, Paradiso, is the official incoming agency.
The event, headed by Cuban musician Giraldo Piloto, will be attended by national and international musicians and percussionists, Cuba’s top popular dance music bands, the most outstanding dance companies of the country, jazz bands and folkloric groups. Master lessons on Percussion and Dance are slated in the schedule.
Two international contests will be conducted within the framework of the event: Percussion, for all ages and open to the public, and Casino Dance for national and international competitors, over 15 years old.
Winners of both contests will be given musical instruments produced by such nationally and internationally renowned companies as GON BOPS, SABIAN, PEARL, REGAL TIP, SONOC, EVANS, and others. The Sol Meliá Hotel company, Paradiso Agency and the event’s sponsors will be doling out attractive prizes as well, including stays in their facilities, certifying diplomas and more.
