61st UNWTO Meeting Planning Committee Instated
Recently, for the 61st Meeting of the United Nations World Tourism Organization/CAF in Abuja, the Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has inaugurated the planning committee between June 4 and 6, 2018.
On Tuesday, the minister completed the ceremony in Abuja. He requested the members of the committee to make sure the event succeeds.
The minister explained that the hosting right of the event in Nigeria had established the confidence of the CAF member states along with the UNWTO.
He stated that Nigeria’s relevance and recognition by the organization, within two years of its return following its brief absence was highlighted in his election as a Vice Chairman of the UNWTO General Assembly taking place in the 22nd session of the UNWTO General Assembly in Chengdu, China, in September 2017.
He explained that the UNWTO meeting would be a kind of a platform for the country to showcase its image as a safe and desirable destination in terms of leisure and business, along with promoting the tourism products and services of the country side by side.
