Anguilla Tourist Board Reports Significant Increase in Arrivals
Anguilla’s air and sea ports recorded “significantly increased levels of traffic in the days leading up to and beyond the traditional holiday period,” according to officials at the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB), which attributed increased traffic at Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport to an increase in scheduled flights into the destination with established carriers combined with the launch of scheduled service by Cape Air in December.
“This trend is in keeping with a recent report from CTO, which cites Anguilla among the few islands [to record] double-digit growth in arrivals each month over the same period the year before, and is a sure sign Anguilla is rebounding from the deep freeze that plagued the region during the recent recession,” said Marie Walker, ATB’s director for North America.
