The company engulfs seven agencies: Paradiso, Soy Cubano, Musicalia, Clave Cubana, D´ARTE, Bis Music and Ediciones Cubanas; and one importing division: Comercial Lauros.

Founded on April 1st, 1989, Artex now celebrates 27 years of work and the anniversary of the foundation of music bands and projects that are included in the catalogs of its artistic representation agencies: Clave Cubana and Musicalia.

Since the early days of 2016, the institution has celebrated the 60th anniversary of the foundation of Roberto Faz Band, 15th of Pupy y los que Son band and 10th of audiovisual project PMM (For a Better World), which are members of Clave Cubana’s catalog of artists; as well as the 60th of the foundation of Elito Revé y su Charangón, 15th of David Blanco y su Grupo and Yaima Saenz’s 10 years of artistic career, comprised by Musicalia agency, among others.

The list of celebrations is also made up of the 20th anniversary of the creation of Eusebio Delfin Recording Studio, managed by Artex’s publishing company and record label, Bis Music. Moreover, the fifth anniversary of Cubali fashions and 15th of Natural Cuba, also related to fashions. Both projects are fostered by Artex’s importing division, Comercial Lauros.

Artex presently owns 80 cultural premises distributed throughout the island and over 250 stores located in cities, airports and tourism destinations in Cuba, which are managed by provincial branches. The institutions based in Pinar del Rio and Cienfuegos are partying the 25th anniversary of their foundation, while the Granma branch celebrates its 20th.

In the same air, Artex keeps on growing and welcomes this anniversary with two new cultural premises and a new store at the Cuban capital, as well as a new line of products: “Bandera”. The store, named “Acapulco”, is nestled in the movie theater with the same name, located in Nuevo Vedado neighborhood, and it will open its doors in April.

“En Guayabera” cultural center, inaugurated in December 2015 features high social value, since it has rescued the facilities of an ancient guayabera factory and it has given Alamar a space to enjoy culture, leisure and entertainment.

“El Tablao”, a cultural center situated in the basement of “Alicia Alonso” Grand Theater of Havana, and inaugurated after the restoration of this majestic building, is a stage open to acclaimed and novel representatives of jazz and flamenco, instrumentation, world music, trova and traditional music. The property features a cellar –the largest in Cuba, with a well-assorted wine list - with exclusive service.

“Bandera” project, also by Comercial Lauros, sells a new collection of items (souvenirs and fashions). The work of Cuban artist Michel Mirabal, with the Cuban flag as the main element, applied on different products, such as caps, T-shirts, pullovers, bottle openers, cases, steins, among others, which can already be acquired at Artex’s stores. “Artehabana” is the main store in Havana, located in San Rafael and Industria, Central Havana.
