Barbados Partners with Canadian Firm for Unique Wellness Tourism Product

The Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA) recently collaborated with Asuwish, a concierge company based in Toronto to launch a unique health and wellness tourism product targeting women in Toronto.

Billed as the “Health & Fitness Retreat in Barbados”, the initiative was officially unveiled during the luncheon and presentation at the Granite Club by representatives of both entities before a targeted audience, including Catriona Le May Doan, a two time Olympic champion speed skater, who attended and is scheduled to join the group on the retreat.

The initiative is expected to attract approximately 30 women who will travel to the island from January 10 - 17, 2010. They will converge at a number of villas at Royal Westmoreland Estates where they will participate in several activities while having access to their own personal trainer, nutritionist and chef.

The BTA provided literature on the destination for the group while Royal Westmoreland donated the evening’s grand prize of a villa for two.
