Bis Music to Launch "La Rumba No Es Como Ayer" Album
Rumba engulfs a broad range of musical rhythms and dance styles brought to Cuba from Africa. It’s one of the island nation’s most prestigious folkloric musical expressions. This musical genre is cultivated by several bands: Los Papines, Los Muñequitos de Matanzas, Clave y Guaguancó.
This endeavor is joined by Team Cuba de la Rumba, a unifying project that gathers representatives of the genre from all regions across Cuba. The album entitled La Rumba No Es Como Ayer, produced with Bis Music, a record label of Artex,is going to be unveiled before the media on October 7, at the Rumba Palace.
The production is made up of two CDs and one DVD. Bands hailing from several cities of the island joined hands in the album, such as Los Seis del Solar, Addaché, Aguiriyo, Los Reyes del Tambor, Rumbata, Timbalaye, Obban Yoco and Ochareo. The DVD includes a documentary film that shows performances by these bands in their different hometowns.
La Rumba No Es Como Ayeris an excellent album promoted by Artex’s Bis Music, a must-have piece for the collection of all enthusiasts of the finest Cuban music. The album is already available in Artex’s stores and it can also be bought on www.cubamusic.com, the digital music store platform.
