Caravelle Hotel Reopens in St. Croix

The 50-year-old Caravelle Hotel in Christiansted, St. Croix, has reopened following a six-month, $2.5 million renovation project. An adjacent casino will open later this year.
Upgrades at the 43-room boutique waterfront property included guestrooms, public spaces, the pool area and a mural on the lobby ceiling.
The hotel's exterior is bright yellow, in a nod to the other historical buildings in Christiansted, which also are yellow.
To celebrate its opening, the property is offering a five-night package priced at $995 per person timed to coincide with the island's annual Taste of St. Croix culinary celebration April 13 through 18.
