Caribbean Islands of Antigua and Barbuda to Promote Wedding Tourism
According to an IANS report, the Caribbean Islands of Antigua and Barbuda will promote a new type of tourism, aimed at encouraging weddings, bachelor parties and honeymoon.
Derede Samuel-Whitlock, Director Tourism, Caribbean Islands of Antigua and Barbuda said that being promoted as the ‘Month of Romance’, the tourism campaign will include a package to attract engaged couples. The aim is to promote Antigua and Barbuda across the world as premier destination for couples and honeymooners.
Officials are of the opinion that this type of tourism will become a major source of revenue for the country in the coming months, mainly due to speculations about Britain’s Prince William to visit the destination for his honeymoon by end of this month.
The tourism department was also in touch with travel agencies, vendors and suppliers of products and services to promote the new mode of tourism.
