Carnival Splendor Nears Completion
Carnival Cruise Line’s largest ship, the 113,300-gross-ton Carnival Splendor, is undergoing its final outfitting at Fincantieri’s Sestri yard in Genoa, Italy. The ship is the first in a new class for Carnival and will have the line’s first spa cabins.
The 3,006-passenger vessel is slated to debut on July 2 with an eight-day cruise from Genoa, Italy, before launching a series of 12-day Northern Europe cruises from Dover, England. They will be Carnival’s first Northern Europe itineraries.
The Splendor will reposition to Fort Lauderdale next winter, where it will operate seven-day Caribbean sailings before embarking on three South America voyages. Then Carnival will use the Splendor for year-round, seven-day Mexican Riviera voyages from Long Beach, Calif.
