Carnival to Unveil Adults-Only Area on Inspiration
Carnival Cruise Lines will unveil an adults-only area called “Serenity” when its ship, the Inspiration, emerges from a month-long drydock in early October, the line said.
It will be the first Carnival ship to feature the new area, which the line said would be located in a secluded aft area of the ship, and would feature plush chaise lounges and chairs, oversized umbrellas and two whirlpools.
The Serenity areas are part of Carnival’s $250 million “Evolutions of Fun” ship enhancement initiative of the line’s eight Fantasy-class vessels.
Vicki Freed, Carnival’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement that the area will provide an “option for those seeking a relaxing alternative to the other exciting outdoor activities and entertainment facilities available onboard.”
Carnival’s sister cruise line, Princes Cruises, debuted the Sanctuary, an adults-only, quiet retreat, on the Crown Princes in June, 2006. The area became so popular that Princess ended up having to charge passengers for its use.
