The US based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that Cayman Islands has been removed from the Zika-related advisory list

The local transmission of the virus was reported in the CDC last year and it was then that the jurisdiction was placed.

After several months of lobbying the Cayman Islands Public Health Department officially removed Cayman Islands from its list on July 28.

Don McDougall, regional manager for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism Europe, said that the now the multi-generational families and couples can visit the popular honeymoon destination without any concern.
