China Reports 9.4 Percent Increase in Overnight Tourists in 2010
In 2010, there were 55.7 million overnight tourists to China, up 9.4 percent on the previous year, while foreign exchange generated from tourism totaled $45.8 billion. Meanwhile, Chinese tourists made a total of 57.4 million outbound trips in 2010, up 20.4 percent over 2009.
According to Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in five years, arrivals to China have increased from 150 million to 385 million.
