CHTA Supports St Lucia PM on APD Complaint

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) is supporting Caribbean Community (CARICOM) chairman and St Lucia Prime Minister Kenny Anthony on the controversial United Kingdom's Air Passenger Duty (APD).
Anthony has written to Britain’s Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne complaining that the tax will have detrimental effects on the entire Caribbean.
CHTA’s President Richard Doumeng, says Anthony’s action underscores the seriousness of the impact of the APD on the region. Mr. Doumeng says the APD is “a significant threat” to the sustainability and growth of Caribbean tourism.
