Club Med Opens All-Inclusive Yabuli Ski Resort in China
Club Med officially opened its first international ski resort in China on Nov. 27, 2010. The Yabuli Resort will join the ranks of Club Med’s Four-Trident “Charm and Prestige” category, offering guests the luxury of a premium all-inclusive vacation in China. Club Med Yabuli is located in the northeast of China in Heilongjiang Province, 110 miles southeast from Harbin, the capital of the province.
The hotel also features a new spa in partnership with French skincare brand L’Occitane, and a Chinese restaurant -- a first in Club Med Resorts -- offering an a la carte menu of specialties from Northeast China. In typical Club Med style, family-friendly facilities are also available, such as the Kids’ Club.
The resort has a total of 283 rooms including one Presidential Suite of 1,291 square feet, 42 suites with views of the mountains, 123 deluxe rooms, 117 superior rooms and connecting rooms which are ideal for families as they allow time together while also offering privacy. There are three restaurants including Mudan, offering Chinese regional specialties. Yabuli is the first Club Med Resort with a Chinese restaurant (complete with six VIP rooms).
Outdoor activities include Alpine skiing and snowboarding with group lessons for all levels and ice-skating activities. The ski season begins in early November and continues through early April. The resort offers 18 ski runs including two green, 11 blue and five black, ideal for skiers of all abilities, with a vertical drop of about 530 meters. Guests enjoy easy, direct access to the slopes for a more enjoyable ski experience.
Club Med Yabuli welcomes children from 2 years old with facilities that cater specially to them. For children between 2 and 3 years old, there’s the Petit Club Med, those from 4 to 11 years old have a Mini Club Med, while pre-teens and teens from 12 to 17 can retreat to a Junior Club Med. The resort also has a Pyjama Club, which takes care of young ones while their parents enjoy the evening entertainment.
Club Med Yabuli has six conference rooms and one large ballroom for up to 600 persons for conventions, seminars and private dinners, a business center with five working stations, a meeting room and business facilities. Business travelers will also find the free Internet access in both the public areas and rooms an easy and convenient way to connect to their work. In February, Club Med Yabuli will host the China Entrepreneur Forum, an annual event that brings together 600 senior executives from leading Chinese companies.
