Crystal Symphony to Get Some Work Done
When it emerges from a $25 million makeover this fall, the 922-passenger Crystal Symphony will have redesigned penthouses, pool areas and restaurants. The Symphony’s drydock is scheduled for Sept. 17 to Oct. 1 in Boston.
The ship’s 61 butler-serviced penthouses and penthouse suites will have new color schemes, cabinetry, carpeting and bathroom tile. Each penthouse will have a flat-screen TV.
The ship’s two Crystal Penthouses will be “stripped and completely transformed into the feel of elegant residential apartments,” Crystal Cruises said. Each master bathroom will have a sunken Jacuzzi with 90-degree ocean views. Other features are his and her walk-in closets and a private study area.
The redesigned ship will have just one pool, the Seahorse Pool. In the midship area of the Lido Deck, the Neptune Pool will be removed and replaced with teak decking and al fresco dining around the Trident Bar.
The Lido Cafe, open for breakfast and lunch, will get an upscale makeover. Crystal said it would add “intimate seating” and install floor-to-ceiling windows. New food and drink islands will offer passengers more choices.
