Doubletree by Hilton Opens First Property in Southeast Asia
Hilton Worldwide announced the opening of its first Doubletree by Hilton hotel in Southeast Asia. The 540-room, 34-story Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur rises high in the skyline of Malaysia’s capital city within Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle district, just northeast of KL City Centre. Positioned along the Jalan Ampang at the Jalan Tun Razak crossing in Embassy Row, the Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur is managed by Hilton Worldwide, and owned by MGPA Asia Fund II and is part of an integrated property called The Intermark. Besides the hotel, The Intermark also has on site a Retail Podium, and a grade A office tower. Another new office building, which has been awarded Platinum LEED pre-certification, is scheduled for completion in 2012.
Each of the 350-square-foot standard guestrooms offer city and Klang Valley views and are equipped with workspaces and seating areas, high-speed Internet access, flat-panel LCD televisions, complimentary in-room coffee and tea service and luxurious bath and body products. The hotel also features the brand’s signature Sweet Dreams by Doubletree sleep experience, complete with high-thread-count linens and an abundance of pillows for a great night’s sleep.
For added exclusivity, the hotel offers nine Executive Floors from the 26th floor onwards. These include 152 Executive Guestrooms, 19 Deluxe Suites, 21 Executive Suites and five Terrace Suites with private terraces overlooking the impressive Kuala Lumpur city skyline. Along with private check-in, some of the many benefits Executive Floor guests may enjoy include complimentary breakfast, snacks during the afternoon and an evening manager’s reception at the Executive Lounge on the 34th floor, which offers panoramic views of the KLCC Petronas Twin Towers and Genting Highlands.
A comprehensive array of conference and event facilities is available at the Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur, with more than 20,000 square feet of flexible, function space. The 12,000-square-foot pillar-less Grand Ballroom is equipped with audio-visual and communication technology and can showcase social receptions for up to 1,000 guests. Nine additional function rooms can be easily configured for boardroom meetings, product launches or press conferences. A full-service business center provides professionals with a full range of secretarial and support services.
The Doubletree by Hilton, Kuala Lumpur features five restaurants and bars. Guests can opt for home-style Italian cuisine at Tosca, appreciate fine wines with an on-site wine sommelier at the Cellar Door, relax for drinks with friends and associates at the Axis Lounge or have a light bite from The Food Store.
