Emirates, JetBlue Enhance Codeshare Deal to Serve Costa Rica

Emirates airline is extending its codeshare agreement with New York-based JetBlue to connect Dubai with Costa Rica, an Emirates spokesperson said on Tuesday. The codeshare flights will become available from September 17.

In a statement to Arabian Business, the spokesperson confirmed that the expanded codeshare agreement between the two airlines will include the Costa Rican capital of San Jose and Liberia, the capital of the country’s Guanacaste province.

Costa Rica and the UAE established embassies in San Jose and Abu Dhabi in 2017 and 2018, respectively, and citizens of both countries do not require a visa to travel between both countries.

In January, Costa Rica announced plans to open a trade representative office in Dubai with the aim of boosting trade between the Latin American country and the emirate.
