The Fair was a Slam Dunk

In the final hours of the International Tourism Fair, at Morro-Cabaña fairground, Cuba’s Minister of Tourism Manuel Marrero Cruz said to be satisfied with the results: “the atmosphere is great, the Fair is a slam dunk.”

Mr. Marrero underscored that the event broke all records and precedents. Among other aspects, he highlighted attendance, which “has been beyond forecasts, almost doubling the figures from previous years.”

“There is a growing demand of new products in Cuba”, the Minister pointed out and explained the importance of having presidents of tour operators, hotel companies and travel agencies, attending the event. The atmosphere was highly favorable for business.

The success of the recently-closed fair will make the Ministry of Tourism rethink the format of these events from now on. Minister Marrero summed up the idea: “everybody wants to come to Cuba, so we have to think big.”
