The Festival’s Tradeshow Opens

“It’s our pleasure to welcome you all to this festival. The tradeshow has no doubt turned out to be one of the event’s major activities, a place to share technical and commercial views among producers, providers, handcrafters, collectors and businesspeople linked to the realm of habanos,” said Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, during his keynote opening speech.

This time around, the fair is harboring 67 stands and booth from different countries, one of the largest turnouts in the history of the festival.

Several products and items, directly or indirectly related to Habanos, are getting a lot of media hype, ranging from smokers’ accessories to art and gourmet utensils. Havana Club S.A., Cuba Ron S.A., Humidif Group, Promo Cigar and Coiba are some of the companies showcasing their products this year.

“We’d like to thank all foreign exhibitors and underscore the diversity of the national offers,” Mr. Malmierca pointed out.

Habanos S.A. co-presidents Luis Sánchez-Hardinguey Pardo de Vera and Sr. Inocente Núñez Blanco; Grupo Tabacuba’s President Justo L. Fuentes Díaz, members of the diplomatic corps stationed in Cuba and other guests also attended.
