Florida’s Legoland Beach Retreat Opens

If playing with Lego blocks and Minifigures at the LEGOLAND Florida Resort isn’t entertaining enough, the resort is now bringing its bricks to the beach with the opening of the new LEGOLAND® Beach Retreat.

The new, lakeside resort takes creative LEGO design to the max. In total, there are 166 separate rooms in 83 bungalows which are grouped into 13 horseshoe-shaped “coves,” each named after a LEGO Minifigure. Yes, Lego fans, there’s even a Shark Suit Guy’s Cove.

Each room can sleep a family of up to five people, although three of those people will be sleeping on bunk beds or a trundle bed. Each cove area has its own outdoor play area, located within view of the bungalows, so parents can chill out while kids explore LEGO nirvana.

Speaking of nirvana, the hotel welcomes guests with a drive-through check-in system that makes it super-speedy to get to your room right away.

Other hotel amenities include a giant swimming pool with an adjacent sand area where kids can build sandcastles or other structures using the giant Lego bricks found there. An indoor building area, featuring a pre-built plastic sand castle, also offers Lego-inspiration.

An on-site restaurant, Sandy’s Castle Restaurant, rolls out a daily breakfast buffet that is included with each night’s stay. Fast-casual options and cocktails are also available at the Bricks Beach Bar. Of course, there’s also an on-site store, Palm Tree Traders, where you can indulge your need to own every single LEGO building set ever. Or pick up Lego-branded apparel, toys and swimwear, as well as snacks and sundries. The resort is also equipped with free Wi-Fi throughout.

Hotel guests can take advantage of early access to the LEGOLAND Florida theme park, where they can enjoy a less-crowded experience at the all-new LEGO NINJAGO® World and LEGO NINJAGO The Ride.

Although the resort is located less than a mile from the theme park, guests can take advantage of complimentary transportation to the entrance or complimentary parking in the main parking lot.

The new resort, which has opened less than two years after its sister property, the 152-room LEGOLAND Hotel, more than doubles the number of rooms available at LEGOLAND Florida.

Rates start from $135 per night (plus tax and resort fees) but vary by season, date and availability. Hotel/theme park packages are also available.
