Holguin Gets Set for Upcoming FITCuba 2017 Fair

Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism spelled out details Wednesday on the upcoming edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2017) slated for May 3-6 in the province of Holguin in eastern Cuba.

According to Maria del Carmen Orellana, Marketing Chief with the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, Holguin is the venue of choice given the large investment process going on in that travel destination and the good numbers it has been putting on the board in recent years.

One of the recipients of that massive foreign investment is Cayo Ramon de Antilla, a pristine location of untapped beaches and picture-perfect scenery that’s increasing catching on in the preference of international travelers.

Holguin features 19,500 guestrooms and stands out as a destination that offers allures others than mere sun and sand, including nature, culture, heritage and history.

This guest country in this year’s FITCuba fair is Germany, an outbound market that chipped in over 242,000 visitors last year, up a staggering 38 percent from 2015, said Mrs. Orellana during the press conference held at the International Press Center in Havana.

More than fifty tour operators, major travel agencies, airlines, cruise companies and other travel-oriented enterprises from Cuba and overseas will be attending the 37th edition of FITCuba in early May, which will feature three days for B2B meetings.
