HostelCuba 2017 Gets Going in Havana

With over 200 participating companies, more than 300 scheduled meetings and roughly 50 events, including cooking shows, HostelCuba -another fair organized by Fira Barcelona and Palco-  opened Tuesday in the Cuban capital.

Fira Barcelona’s director general Ricardo Zapatero delivered the keynote opening speech and mentioned that HostelCuba 2017 has tripled the outcomes of the inaugural edition in terms of participating companies -mostly from overseas- the number of B2B appointments and business meetings.

Mr. Zapatero wished the attendees well and thanked the support provided by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and the island nation’s Ministry of Tourism.

The second edition of HostelCuba is gathering some 120 exhibitors from 18 countries, nine of them from Cuba -including three self-employed groups- and 48 Spanish companies.

Other countries attending the fair are Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Hungry, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Uruguay, Panama and Mexico.

HostelCuba 2017 is the fourth international professional event planned and executed together by Cuba’s Grupo Empresarial Palco and Fira Barcelona.
