Jamaica Tourism Receives New York Recognition
The Jamaica Tourist Board received the Caribbean Heritage Award from New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson Jr. on June 2 at a special awards ceremony in celebration of Caribbean Heritage Month. Receiving the award for JTB was Anthony King, regional director, tour operators and airlines.
Each year, the comptroller pays tribute to prominent Caribbean Americans represented by various professions. This year’s event was co-sponsored by the Caribbean American Center of New York, the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Caribbean Women’s Health Association and the West Indian American Day Carnival Association was held at the SEIU Union Headquarters in Lower Manhattan.
