MICE Industry Sees Promising Growth in 2016

The events industry is big, bold and quite strong headed into the meat of 2016.

Michelle Mangan of The Europe Hotel & Resort in Killarney, Ireland, released the following infographic that illustrates how things are going in the travel industry in respect to meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE).

As you will soon see, the industry shows vitality across all aspects, including what is a boon for travelers and incentives.

According to the study: “36 percent of travel industry professionals expect to spend more than $4,000 per person in 2016.” A similar figure was at about 14 percent last year. Consider this a well-received investment in travelers dedicated to traipsing the globe to meet with colleagues.

When it comes to meetings, the market research promises what should be about a 2 percent uptick in both the Asia Pacific markets as well as those in North America.

However, the graphic offers more than an optimistic outlook for the MICE industry in the immediate future.

There are some items to glean from the overall trends from the industry. For example, if you are preparing that future conference, you better have an immersive app that helps, informs and invigorates the meeting and its attendees.

Entertainment, food and various gift suggestions are also thrown in for coordinators who like to get a lay of the land as it sits currently.

Thanks to The Europe Hotel & Resort, we have a barometer of the MICE industry as well as the expectations from corporate travelers as they are increasingly drawn to these informative and increasingly innovative conferences.
