MITM Americas Havana 2018 Ends with Resounding Success

The 22nd edition of MITM Americas culminated in a resounding success in the incomparable enclosure of the plaza of the “Catedral de la Habana”, with the presence of the most relevant figures in tourism, culture, music, and arts in Cuba, as well as the authorities of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba, whose Minister, D. Manuel Marrero, officially inaugurated this past 19th September.

The end of such an important event came to a close after 2 days of intense business appointments and an exceptional networking program in which the 4,137 appointments that where generated between short and long term will have an estimated impact of over USD $226.908.973.

The event convened over 200 participants of 27 countries: Corporate companies (19%), incentive agencies (27%), meeting planners (27%), international associations (10%) and tour operators (19%).

Cuban authorities have placed their trust for the 3rd time in the pioneering event with the highest yield of America and The Caribbean and continue to rely on MITM Americas as a fundamental pillar in its plan to enhance the development of the MICE sector in Cuba.

With a combined effort of MITM Events and the Cuban tourism institutions there is no doubt that the future of Cuba´s MICE sector is one of endless possibilities and expectations.

2019 marks the 500-year anniversary of the city of “San Cristóbal de La Habana” and for its celebration, the Government of the Republic of Cuba has set in motion an ambitious plan to restore and remodel the historical heritage of this magical city, as well as the construction of new luxury hotels.

Also coinciding with the 500th anniversary of the city of Havana, the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba has prepared a robust tourism development plan after the overwhelming success of this edition, which will include the celebration of the 23rd edition of MITM Americas as its main component to continue to develop and consolidate meetings, incentives, congresses and events tourism in Cuba.
