Princess Cruises will debut a private lounge at CLIA’s Cruise3sixty show for agents who have reached the Commodore level in its online training program. The Princess Academy Commodores can visit the new “Commodore Club,” a private lounge offering opportunities to take a break and relax between sessions, conduct business, mingle with company executives, enjoy refreshments, and even get a massage.

The Commodore Club will debut at the trade show in Fort Lauderdale on March 7. The lounge will feature a complimentary Internet Café with computer access for email and learning about Princess’ online suite of travel agent tools, scheduled “insider chats” with company executives and visits with the captain of TV’s “Love Boat,” Gavin MacLeod. Agents can relax with a coffee drink or other beverages and snacks, including a “candy bar” offering an array sweet treats.

The Commodore Club is the latest benefit for those travel agents who have fully completed Princess Academy, and have passed the final Commodore course. Agents who complete the coursework become experts on a wide range of topics, such as passenger amenities, worldwide destinations and the many special programs available onboard.

To become a Commodore, travel agents must fulfill 25 required and elective classes, representing approximately 15 hours of total course work. As they complete courses, agents receive their “stripes” through four levels: First Officer, Staff Captain, Captain and finally Commodore.
