Prizes Doled Out at the Closing of the International Seminar, Tradeshow

During the closing of the International Seminar and Tradeshow of the 16th Habano Festival, organizers announced a number of major prizes, such as the winner of the contest for the longest burning ash, the best booths in different categories and the top honors in the Habano in Images contest.
After measuring the ash burned by 141 participants, the jury proclaimed Cuba’s Olivia Terry the winner, with a burning ash of 169 mm, who barely left 9 mm of her cigar unburned. From the total number of contesters, ten chalked up results above 158 mm, while three of them swayed somewhere between 165 mm and 169 mm.
As to the best booth in different categories, the Best Modular Booth Design Prize went to Tecnoazucar, the result of a combination of good visual effects, good use of available space, decorative colors and reasonable use of resources.
Internacional Cubana de Tabacos S.A. won the prize to the Best Freestyle Design with a modern, eye-catching and well-colored stand. The prize to the Most Visited Booth went to Italy’s Tridello, a group that lured visitors with an assortment of products and original seducing ways.
The prize in the Communication category was given to CARIBEX S.A., an exporting company that made a good combination of communicative tools, publicizing supports and promotional items in dealing with commercial activities.
On the other hand and after checking on 16 different works, the top prize in the Habanos in Images Contest was not awarded due to “lack of sufficient quality,” as moviemaker Rigoberto Lopez, who chaired the jury, put it. However, “Primera Independencia” by Lilliam Broche and “El Secreto de la Vega” by Jose Manuel Fernandez, nabbed honorary mentions.
