Riviera Nayarit Reports No Cases of Flu Virus
Dr. Omar Reynozo Gallegos, Minister of Health for the State of Nayarit, along with Dr. Jose Angel Cordova Villalobos, National Secretary of Health of Mexico, has announced that Riviera Nayarit has no reported cases of the swine flu, H1N1 virus.
Mr. Gallegos issued a statement, saying, “The State of Nayarit continues to be on an epidemiologic alert due to the situation prevailing in our country; at this time the circulation of H1N1 (swine flu virus) has not been reported within our state. We have adopted measures for greater surveillance and prevention as per the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines so this flu does not come to our state.”
“Of course, we still want to ensure that all visitors know and follow the precautionary measures to help avoid the spread of this virus,” said Marc Murphy, director of the Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau. Villalobos also advised at a press conference earlier this week that since there are no cases of the swine flu in Nayarit, schools will reopen as well as restaurants and other local businesses this week.
