Spain Flexed its Muscles at FIHAV 2018

Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, toured some of Spain’s pavilions at the 36th Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2018), which, as in previous editions, is the country with the largest representation at the event.

During the tour, in which he was accompanied by the new Spanish ambassador to Cuba, Juan Fernandez Trigo, the Cuban Minister talked with several businesspeople and became interested in the products and services exhibited at FIHAV 2018, which in its usual venue -the ExpoCuba fairgrounds- gathered over 3,000 exhibitors from around 65 countries.

Mr. Malmierca praised the creations of the Basque business group INKUG S.L. related to the 500th anniversary of the foundation of the village of San Cristobal de La Habana, that real and wonderful city to which the 36th edition of FIHAV, a platform for the promotion of trade and direct foreign investment, is dedicated.

In the ceremony for the National Day of her country at FIHAV, Maria Peña Mateos, CEO of ICEX Spain Exports and Investments pointed out that her country continues to be Cuba’s top trade partner within the European Union and the biggest investor in the whole world, especially in the tourist sector.
