St. Lucia’s popular Coco Palm boutique hotel in Rodney Bay Village is getting ready for JetBlue Airways’ inaugural service to the island, which starts on Monday, October 26, 2009.

This week, Coco Palm’s staff met Frances Liu, business development analyst with the airline, to discuss the property’s inclusion in JetBlue’s growing Getaways vacation package program.

“We have high hopes for JetBlue’s thrice weekly nonstop service from New York to St. Lucia which will help to augment existing flights by American, Delta and US Airways from the US market,” said Feolla Chastanet, Coco Palm’s Managing Director.

She said that they appraised the synergies between the award-winning hotel and airline products and she was extremely pleased with JetBlue’s hands-on approach to working with the island’s resort community.

“The arrival of affordable JetBlue flights to the island will help stimulate growth and demand for St. Lucia. We are clearly encouraged about this and I look forward to personally welcoming some of JetBlue’s first passengers to the hotel and introducing them to Rodney Bay Village –the entertainment capital of St. Lucia,” said Chastanet.

“We’re pleased to be growing in the Caribbean region yet again with new flights between New York and St. Lucia,” said Scott Laurence, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning. “JetBlue is proud to bring to the eastern Caribbean what we believe is the best airline product in the Americas,” noted Laurence, who added the airline looks forward to introducing St. Lucians to a refreshing kind of air travel experience, with low fares, new aircraft, delicious free snacks and drinks, complimentary seatback television programming and some of the friendliest crewmembers in the skies.

JetBlue intends to operate its St. Lucia service with spacious 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring comfortable leather seats.
