A recent report issued by the Spanish Research Center on New Professions and Trade (CENP), of the Higher School of Tourism, asserts that the sun-and-sand is in full swing all across Spain.

The CENP report is based on a poll that surveyed 500 attendants to last year´s FITUR Fair in Madrid. The study sample included industry experts, students and the general public.

Outcomes show that three out of four professionals believe beach travel is far from winding down or going into a crisis situation. The upshot was pretty similar among students and dropped just a tad in the case of the general public.

Approximately 44 percent of respondents say the quality of tourist services is the key issue that must be tackled in an effort to improve the industry in the future.

Nearly 80 percent of polled people ranked culture as one of the major travel needs for the future of the sector and pointed to the international promotion of cultural and rural values as two key players.

Last but not least, nine out of ten people consider Spain will continue to be a sun-and-sand travel destination per se for the next couple of years.
