Spas, health & wellness and medical tourism are the focus of Anfas Hetex 2010, a major trade fair that attracts exhibitors and buyers from all over the world. The exhibition will feature health tourism, thermal and Thalasso spas, health & wellness, sports, healthy lifestyle, cosmetic treatment, personal care products and technologies.

The expo will be held at the Antalya Center, Feb. 26 to March 1, 2010. Attendees and exhibitors will include international health insurance companies, spa and medical tour operators, health associations, hospitals, health institutions and spa operators. The Expo underscores the importance of spas and wellness tourism in Turkey.

Wellness tourism generates almost two million visitors to Turkey each year. You can relax in luxury at world class hotels or rejuvenate your body and spirit in Turkey’s legendary hot springs, which were once visited by Agamemnon and Julius Caesar.

Throughout the country and particularly in the western Aegean and Marmara regions, there are 1,300 thermal springs and over 190 spa resorts; including deluxe hotels offering style, glamour and the latest trends in wellness and beauty or, in contrast, traditional “hamams,” public baths, that have been part of Turkish culture for centuries.

Antalya will be the site of the Expo. Known as the Turkish Riviera, where the pine-clad Toros (Taurus) Mountains sweep down to the sparkling clear sea, Antalya Turkey’s most popular resort region.

The region has sunshine 300 days of the year and offers sunbathing, swimming and water sports, yachting, skiing, trekking, mountaineering and golf. Since the Expo takes place in March, participants can ski at Saklikent in the mornings and in the afternoons swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean.
