United Airlines Pilot Charged with Running Prostitution Ring
On Wednesday, court documents revealed that a pilot for United Airlines was arrested at his home in Houston after authorities discovered that he was allegedly running a prostitution ring in Texas.
According to Julia Jacobo of ABCNews.com, 51-year-old United Airlines pilot Bruce Wayne Wallis has been charged with two felonies in Harris County District Court; one for aggravated promotion of prostitution and the other for engaging in organized criminal activity.
Bond was set at $15,000 total for both charges, which Wallis has posted. No further details surrounding the case were made available.
In response, United Airlines has officially removed Wallis from flight duty and has pledged its full cooperation to authorities in Texas in regard to the investigation. The airline told ABCNews.com, “We hold our employees to the highest standard.”
Wallis is a decorated pilot, as he was added to the Federal Aviation Administration's Airmen Certification Database in 2013. The list highlights pilots who met or exceeded the high educational, licensing and medical standards established by the FAA.
