Uniworld Sails Douro River in Portugal, Spain

Uniworld is offering a nine-night package that includes a weeklong cruise on the Douro River through Portugal and Spain. The Douro River package begins with a two-night hotel stay in Lisbon before embarking on a seven-night cruise.

Passengers will dine in a rustic family-run posada, a 14th-century Benedictine monastery and an 18th century mansion overlooking the Douro.

They also can sample port and other Spanish and Portuguese wines. The cruise will visit the UNESCO World Heritage City of Salamanca, Spain, and lunch on traditional paella with sangria.

The Douro River Valley package is priced from $1,799 per person, exclusive of airfare but including a river-view stateroom on the Douro Queen, meals, entertainment, and eight excursions led by English-speaking guides. Those who book and deposit by March 31 will save $300 per couple.
