The Very Best of Cuban Music, Giant Casino Circle in Baila en Cuba 2015

Several of the finest popular dance music orchestras of Cuba will gather for the tenth edition of Baila en Cuba, a World Meeting of Casino and Salsa Dancer and Dance Academies, organized by Paradiso, culturaltourism agency of Artex,which is going to take place in Havana, on November 22 - 27.
So far, the orchestras included in the catalogs of Artex‘s Clave Cubana and Musicaliaartistic representation agencies, have confirmed their participation.
They are: Formell y los Van Van, labeled as the “Train of Cuban music”; Charanga Habanera, always improving the staging and including new genres in itsrepertoire; Elito Revé y su Charangón, one of the most prestigious bands in Cuba and around the world, and Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, headed by songwriter and musical arranger Adalberto Alvarez, who is described as “The Knight of Son”, has included contemporary elements in this dance genre and introduced it in the realm and sonority of Salsa.
These bands, which usually participate in Baila en Cuba, are joined this year by Havana D´Primera, directed by virtuous trumpet player Alexander Abreu. It’s a young Cuban band, but it has been on the up and up since the very beginning. It’s presently one of the most popular salsa bands on the Island and its song Me dicen Cuba has become a sort of national anthem.
Other bands are likely to participate in this event, which is annually held in November, but the ones that have already confirmed their presence are going to give attendees five nights of intense concerts, perfect moments to practice everything they have learned in casino workshops, while they interact with Cuban dancers.
These workshops will be given by prestigious Cuban professors, who have graduated at the Island’s art schools. Before these lessons, optional workshops are going to teach such traditional rhythms as mambo, chachachá, rumba and son.
Baila en Cubais the perfect opportunity to be in touch with Cuban salsa, as well as other rhythms, enjoy dance shows with the best Cuban popular music bands and performances by dance academies.
This year the attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a giant casino circle aimed at setting a new Guinness record with the Largest Casino Circle of the world, this time round in the country that adopted casino dance, an event that is going to take place within the framework of the celebrations for the tenth anniversary of Baila en Cuba.
Main requirements:
- All national and international dancers can participate, older than 16.
- The registrations can be done individually, as dance couples or casino circles.
- Free dance is not allowed. Each participant is to respect the choreography.
- Once dancers have been given a position they have to hold it.
- Position changes are not allowed.
- There’ll be a monitor guiding the group every 50 people, the only figure authorized to fulfill this task.
- No word or phrase can be aired during the circle dance time, since it could distort it.
- Participant must be disciplined. If monitors report any indiscipline the Organizing Committee will decide the proper measure.
- Partial and general rehearsals will be carried out, compulsory attendance. The failure to attend these sessions will automatically entail the non-participation in the casino circle.
- All participants will be given a pullover related to the casino circle, to be worn during the record-setting session.
- All participants will receive a diploma as dancers in the attempt to set a Guinness Record of the largest casino circle of the world.

The participants will receive confirmation from the Organizing Committee, which gives them a number to be identified in the activities so as to organize the casino circle.
The Organizing Committee notifies rehearsal spaces.
