Vienna Prepares its Christmas Markets

Vienna is promoting its Christmas markets. The Christmas Village at Vienna’s former General Hospital (“Altes AKH”) will offer traditional Viennese atmosphere with decorated market stalls located on the many narrow alleyways.

The village will be open from Nov. 14 to Dec. 24. The Christmas Village Maria Theresien-Platz will be open from Nov. 18 to Dec. 24. It lies within Vienna’s Ringstrasse.

The Christmas Village Schloss Belvedere, open from Nov. 20 to Dec. 23, is set against the baroque backdrop of the Belvedere palace. More than 40 decorated market stalls offer traditional handcrafted goods, elaborate Christmas decorations and special culinary delights.
