Visit Florida Announces Major New Marketing Initiatives
At the 43rd Annual Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism, taking place Sept. 26 to 28, 3010, at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, Visit Florida President and CEO Chris Thompson along with Visit Florida Chief Marketing Officer Will Seccombe announced three major new strategic initiatives for the coming year. Social media, mobile applications and content will be the main focus of the state tourism marketing corporation’s promotional activities.
The social media strategy will include the Facebook launch of Visit Florida’s “Share a Little Sunshine” campaign for Spanish-speakers. Components of the content strategy will include a new Visit Florida magazine, the relaunch of the Visit Florida travel guide, a partnership with American Express for the roll out of new TV coop, expanded locally generated content on Visit Florida’s international website, and the revamp of Visit Florida’s golfing, fishing and nature trails websites.
Visit Florida will also enable all of the content from its website to be viewed in a mobile-friendly format. “The three-part strategy promises that Visit Florida will remain relevant to visitors,” said Thompson. Also announced was Patrick Dempsey as the new celebrity spokesperson for Visit Florida.
