WTM London’s European Region Hosts Nearly 374,000 Meetings

The WTM London European Region plays host to almost 374,000 on-stand meetings from more than 23,000 industry professionals interested in the region.

The European region at WTM London saw a total of 373,983 on-stand meetings take place, meaning each European exhibitor had an average of 211 on-stand meetings.

Of the 10,500 buyers from the WTM Buyers’ Club at WTM London 2017, 7,413 were interested in buying European product; this includes 3,810 for Spain; 3,759 looking to purchase Europe; 3,759 interested in Italy; more than 3,600 (3,658) for France; 3075 for Germany; and more than 2,000 (2026) for Turkey.

Europe had a great deal to promote at WTM London 2017. Italy was the main Premier Partner and Greece once again sponsored the WTM London International Media Centre. The continent is the most visited in the world, according to the UNWTO, with 671 million tourist arrivals in 2017 – an 8% increase on 2016.

WTM London 2018 will see the introduction of Regional Inspiration Zones. These Regional Inspiration Zones will be the center point of the regions and will act as an ideas hotbed for debate, research and analysis of each region’s tourism industry.

The Regional Inspiration Zone will host content sessions, networking events and festivals. One session already confirmed on the Europe Inspiration Zone is the popular World Travel Leaders.

In total, WTM London 2017 hosted 935,129 on-stand meetings, helping the event generate more than £3.1 billion in industry deals.

WTM London, Senior Director, Simon Press, said: “WTM London is effectively eight shows under one roof. WTM London attracts 50,000 delegates from 182 countries and regions generating £3.1 billion in industry deals. The European show at WTM facilitates almost 374,000 meetings with more than 23,000 delegates interested in European countries.”

Arabian Travel Market is the leading, international travel and tourism event in the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals. ATM 2018 attracted almost 40,000 industry professionals, with representation from 141 countries over the four days. The 25th edition of ATM showcased over 2,500 exhibiting companies across 12 halls at Dubai World Trade Centre.  Arabian Travel Market 2019 will take place in Dubai from Sunday, 28th April to Wednesday, 1st May 2019.

International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) is the meeting place for the global B2B golf travel community.
