American Airlines, one of the top airlines in the United States with historic presence in Cuba, is slated to begin scheduled flights to Cuba on Wednesday August 7, 11:00 am, to Cienfuegos City’s “Jaime Gonzalez” International Airport, in central Cuba.

Delta Air Lines will begin daily service to Havana, Cuba, from Atlanta, Miami and New York on Dec. 1, while United will start on Nov. 29 from NYC and Newark.

Eurowings is expanding its network of cheap long-distance flights with new flight to Miami. The maiden flight - EW182 - took off earlier towards Miami, capital of the American sun state Florida.

For the first time in over fifty years, this New York-based low-cost airline made its inaugural scheduled flight from the U.S. to Cuba since 1961, a development that comes to pass within the restoration of diplomatic ties between the two countries that resumed in December 2014. Caribbean News Digital had the privilege of boarding that opening flight from Florida to Cuba.

A small 34-seat Saab aircraft landed in Abel Santamaria International Airport in Santa Clara, in central Cuba, the first scheduled routes operated by Silver Airways.

Airlines receiving the Havana awards include network, low-cost, and ultra-low cost carriers – Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and United Airlines.
