Copa airlines, St. Maarten’s major connection to the South American market, will be back to servicing Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) with four flights weekly from its Panama hub as from December 12, 2013.

Qatar Airways has announced Miami to be its sixth destination to the US beginning June 10th, 2014. The airline will offer non-stop flights from its hub in Doha four-times per week aboard a Boeing 777.

Boeing and Aerolineas Argentinas, the flag carrier of Argentina, have completed an agreement for 20 Next-Generation 737-800 airplanes. The agreement, valued at $1.8 billion at list prices, will play a key role in Aerolineas Argentinas’ continued efforts to modernize its fleet and increase passenger satisfaction.

A new Cayman Islands-based airline is planning to run scheduled flights connecting to the Caribbean and Latin America. BlueSky Airlines has already launched an “executive jet” service aimed at high-end clients in the business world.
