LIAT has agreed to increase its number of daily flights into Grenada to seven from five, the government said Thursday. The increase comes after what the government said was a series of “strong appeals” by Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell for an expanded LIAT presence on the island.

US-based luxury air carrier Tradewind Aviation has launched nonstop service from San Juan to Nevis and Anguilla. The routes are in addition to the company’s existing “premium scheduled” service, which operates in Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard in the northeastern United States and St Barth in the Caribbean.

Following its successful launch in July 2012, Emirates has announced it will commence a daily A380 service to Barcelona from February 1st 2014. Emirates’ new 517 seat A380 service will be the first permanent A380 service to operate into Barcelona El Prat Airport.

TAM Airlines, part of LATAM Airlines Group, has announced that passengers flying between Rio de Janeiro and London, New York or Miami can now enjoy the experience of being on board the new Boeing 767. The first aircraft has just started operating from London Heathrow and the airline plans to integrate six new 767s into its fleet by November 2013.

United Airlines has launched weekly, non-stop service from Newark/New York to Saint Lucia on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the added convenience of travelers in the Northeast and many of the island's top US markets. The new service commenced on Saturday, July 13, 2013 and is expected to continue on that same day of the week.

Copa Airlines will start flights between Tampa International Airport and Panama in December, giving customers a direct link to Central and South America. The new route with one of the world's leading airlines would fulfill Tampa International's long-standing goal to serve Copa's hub in Panama City for flights throughout Central and South America.
