American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia, members of the oneworld alliance, unveiled new customer benefits as a result of their trans-Atlantic joint business. All three carriers are expanding the number of routes on which the airlines will codeshare between North America and Europe. The first sales date of the expanded codeshare cooperation is Dec. 20, with most travel beginning on Dec. 28.
American Airlines has begun its new nonstop service from Dallas-Fort Worth to Barbados. Flight 514 goes to the island’s Grantley Adams International Airport. Travelers from the Western and Central regions of the U.S. now have a new reason to head to the Caribbean this winter, with flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to Barbados operating every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, with returning flights every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
France-based air company XL Airways has started weekly flights to Cuba’s Varadero Beach, a service that will remain in place till April 2011 and that promises to increase the number of French sunbathers flocking to the island nation’s number-one travel destination.
Getting to Antigua and Barbuda just got easier! Visitors to the twin island destination now have another convenient non-stop option from New York on Caribbean Airlines. Tourism officials and airline representatives gathered at JFK’s Terminal 4 today to officially launch the new service which was commemorated with an official ribbon cutting ceremony just prior to boarding.
TAM Airlines and US Airways signed a codeshare agreement that increases itinerary options for their passengers flying from or to South and North Americas. Starting December 1st, passengers of the Brazilian airline will have new domestic flight options from the company’s gateways in Miami, New York and Orlando.
GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes S.A., the largest low-cost and low-fare airline in Latin America, will begin flying to Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Beginning December 4, GOL will offer three regular flights from Sao Paulo International Airport/Guarulhos, one of them with origin in Tancredo Neves International Airport, in Confins (Minas Gerais).
