American Airlines has recommenced its daily non stop services from Miami to Antigua after nearly ten years. Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Harold Lovell, General Manager of the Antigua Hotel and Tourist Association Neil Forrester were on Saturday’s flight which touched down at the VC Bird International Airport shortly after 1.30 pm.

Nearly two weeks after it announced plans to remove free meals for coach passengers on transatlantic flights, United Airlines has had a change of heart. The New York Times is reporting that United e-mailed customers yesterday to announce that they have backpedaled on the policy.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced a revised industry financial forecast that would see the global airline industry post losses of $5.2 billion in 2008 based on an average crude oil price of $113 per barrel ($140 for jet fuel).
Lufthansa is adding a three-cabin Airbus A340-300 service from Miami to Düsseldorf beginning on October 26.
