Air Berlin has concluded a firm order for 25 B787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a value according to Boeing’s list prices of approximately $4 billion, together with 10 option and 15 purchase rights.
American Airlines said it will begin daily service from New York (Kennedy) to London’s Stansted Airport October 28 in a direct challenge to Eos and Maxjet, the premium-class carriers that launched their first service on the same route in fall 2005. Premium-only Silverjet serves London (Luton) from Newark.
Delta Air Lines reported record load factors for June, including consolidated system load factor of 85.9 percent, mainline system load factor of 86.5 percent, mainline domestic load factor of 88.6 percent, and regional system load factor of 82.5 percent.
Iberia has decided to raise the number of flights between Madrid and Bucharest in July and August, to meet the higher demand for seats in the summer months.
TAM signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire 22 Airbus A350 XWB (Xtra Wide Body), models 800 and 900, with 10 more options, to be delivered between 2013 and 2018. The company will be the first in Latin America to have these new aircraft in its long haul fleet.
Galileo has signed a new full content agreement with Spanish carrier Iberia. The agreement will see all of Iberia’s published fares and inventory, including its web fares, continue to be made available to all users of the Galileo system worldwide.
